Event Details

Rivers for Change is kicking off their 12 Rivers in 2012 stewardship and conservation campaign to paddle down 12 critical California watersheds Source to Sea throughout the year. Come join them on the Yuba River on Thurs Jan 12th. Bring your own boat, a lunch, and a change of clothes. Paddle from Parks Bar to Hallwood Blvd. (10.9 miles class I and II with one mandatory portage around Daguerre Dam). Meet at 9:30 am at Parks Bar. We will unload gear and then run a shuttle down to Hallwood Blvd, before getting on the river. Paddle goes rain or shine. Free, will be required to sign a liability release.

It’s the perfect chance to get on the river before enjoying a weekend of inspiring films at the Wild and Scenic Film festival in Nevada City!

Directions to Parks Bar:
from Marysville: To reach Parks Bar drive east from Marysville about 18 miles on CA highway 20. When you first see the large bridge over the river, look for the Parks Bar side road on the right. Follow it about .5 miles past some houses and almost under the bridge.

from Bay Area or Sacramento: Take Interstate 80 east through Sacramento to Auburn, then north on highway 49 to Grass Valley, and finally west on highway 20 until you cross over the Yuba River. Parks Bar is just after you cross over the Yuba River on your left (south) side of the Hwy. Turn left and follow the road about .5 miles past some houses and almost under the bridge.

from Grass Valley: Take Hwy 20 headed west out of town (Empire exit off the freeway). Travel approximately 18 miles, cross over the Yuba River and take a left onto Parks Bar. Follow the road about .5 miles past some houses and almost under the bridge.
