Description
In celebration of Earth Day, we will be hosting an all-ages festival in Lardner’s Point Park that will include an outdoor cleanup, environmental demos/vendors/activities, naturalist guided walks/tours and a yoga class.
WHO: All are invited.
WHAT: A festival celebrating Earth Day.
WHEN: 10am – 4pm
WHERE: Lardner’s Point Park (5202 Levick Street Philadelphia) Under the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge.
WHY: To celebrate the earth and our urban green spaces and to reconnect with the river in our shared backyard.
PARTNERS:
-Fishing, casting and knotting lessons with free bait from our partners at Sportmaster Bait and Tackle
-Yoga with Marghi Insignares
-Geocaching with Wissahickon Environmental Center
-STEM lessons for kids from the Tacony Branch Library
-Clean Air Council/ Go Philly Go – interactive table about alternative transportation
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
10am: Free Yoga on the Pier with Marghi Insignares
11am – 2pm: Geocaching, STEM activities, kids games, Fishing Lessons and more!
12pm-3pm: Free hot dogs from Dietz and Watson (while supplies last); Food for sale from Chef Johnny Bravo’s Surf and Turf
2-4pm: Volunteering across the park with Riverfront North
*we’ll also have volunteer cleanup activities from 10am – 2pm on an individualized basis.
