Saturday Nov 17, 2018 from 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM starting at the Grove Park Recreation Center, we will be heading to 60+ locations throughout Proctor, Sandy and Utoy Creeks!

Registration and breakfast begin at 9:00 AM - The program starts promptly at 9:30 AM

Save the date for this watershed wide water sampling day! Join the Proctor Creek Stewardship Council, community members and volunteers collecting water samples throughout neighborhoods through which the creeks flow, and take a 1-day “snapshot” of water quality in Proctor, Sandy and Utoy Creeks.

Help address water quality issues in Proctor, Sandy and Utoy Creeks by learning about water quality monitoring!

Volunteers will meet for a brief training session at 9:30 am
Then at 10:00 am we will go out to collect water samples from various sites in Proctor, Sandy and Utoy Creeks, after which the data will be anaylzed for water quality.

Come join us! No previous monitoring experience is necessary!

Light breakfast and lunch will be provided for all volunteers. Dress for the weather -- we'll have a good time, rain or shine. All ages are welcome! Children must be accompanied by an adult.

West Atlanta Watershed Alliance & Chattahoochee Riverkeeper

The West Atlanta Watershed Alliance (WAWA) is a community-based non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life within the West Atlanta Watershed by protecting, preserving and restoring our community’s natural resources. WAWA has, for over 18 years, represented African American neighborhoods in Northwest and Southwest Atlanta that are most inundated with environmental stressors, but are least represented at environmental decision-making tables.

Chattahoochee Riverkeeper’s (CRK) mission is to advocate and secure the protection and stewardship of the Chattahoochee River, its tributaries and watershed, in order to restore and preserve their ecological health for the people and wildlife that depend on the river system. Established in 1994, Chattahoochee Riverkeeper (CRK) is an environmental advocacy organization with more than 7,000 members dedicated solely to protecting and restoring the Chattahoochee River Basin — drinking water source for nearly four million people.
