Description

Discover the Susquehanna!

Explore the Susquehanna River in our comfortable, 10 passenger pontoon boat! Susquehanna National Heritage Area staff will guide participants on a 1 hour 15 minute tour of the river while sharing its rich natural and cultural history. You will experience the joy of being on the water, hearing stories of the river, and viewing beautiful scenery and wildlife.

BOAT TOUR UPDATE 7/16/19: Our latest round of River Discovery Tours through August has already booked up. We appreciate the great interest in this free pilot season of tours and regret that we haven’t been able to accommodate everyone who wants to go. While we don’t have the capacity to manage a wait list, we are working on options to expand our schedule and enhance our process and communications for reservations. Stay tuned for updates as we work things out. We appreciate your patience – and your enthusiasm for experiencing the Susquehanna!

A few tips for the current schedule of tours:

1. Check our Eventbrite tour page regularly to see if seats have opened up on specific tours. Folks do cancel reservations through Eventbrite and those seats automatically open up, though seats book up again quickly.

2. Visit the Zimmerman Center for Heritage at least 30-60 minutes before a scheduled tour in case there are no-shows. Reservations are only guaranteed up to 20 minutes before the departure time. Any unclaimed seat reservations will be released on a first come, first served basis to those who are on-site and ready to go. There is lots to see and do at the Zimmerman Center, adjacent Native Lands County Park, and other sites along the river at Long Level, so you won’t be bored even if you can’t join a boat tour. Here’s a link with more info about the Zimmerman Center: https://www.susquehannaheritage.org/explo…/zimmerman-center/

3. Like and Follow us on Facebook so you are in the loop for boat tour updates and information. We are looking into options for email updates about the tours.

Again, our apologies if you have not been able to secure a reservation for a boat tour. We will do our best to enhance this new program as we move forward.
