Presenter's Biographies:

Dr. Amy Fogelstrom Chai, MD, MS

Dr. Amy Fogelstrom Chai, MD, MS, has degrees from Johns Hopkins, Indiana University, University of Michigan, and University of Virginia. She completed a fellowship in academic general internal medicine and a Master’s of Science in epidemiology at University of Virginia Health Sciences Center. She met her husband, Toby, as a teenager, married young, and partnered with him through his appointment as Yale’s Vice Chair of Research, Department of Urology; and Co-Director, Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery Program in 2013.

Dr. Chai has also home educated her two children, provided hospice care in her home for her in-laws, earned a US Presidential Teacher award, and authored award winning books. Dr. Chai continues to wrestle with the discovery of God’s purpose (telos) for her life. Her role as a Christian woman finding her way has led her to define success differently (kenosis). She has discovered that telos and kenosis are concepts that both resonate and clash in the lives gifted Christian women everywhere.

Chitra Kavoor

Chitra Kavoor is British citizen, raised and educated in India. She received MBA from the University of Bangalore and worked in the corporate world in the area of Marketing for a number of years before moving to the UK with her husband, Rev. Canon George Kavoor.

She has also worked on a variety of women's concerns from refugee work to teen pregnancy education.

In her own words, "The better part of my life's work has been in training international church leadership in the areas of management, leadership, education and women's development. I have loved interacting both with men and women on issues facing women worldwide.

Chitra and her husband George, (chaplain to Queen Elizabeth II), recently moved to the United States and have 3 grown children, Tim, Josh and Esther living on three different continents. She loves spending time with family and friends, and is eager to learn, grow and share lessons she's learned in her journey as a Christian. Special joys include playing tennis, healthy eating and drinking tea!
