Rise Up would like to invite you to join our Inspiring Stories event on Wednesday 5th April.
This is the first event of an events series on women in tech, fintech and design.
Our aim is to create a regular event to bring together like minded people (not just women) and provide an inspiring range of speakers to provoke discussion and curiosity, followed by drinks, music and networking.
The first event focusses on inspiring stories from 3 women in tech with very different backgrounds, taking us through the importance of promoting tech to entry level girls, emerging technologies and design and digital in financial services.

Hilda Jenkins, Digital Experience & Engagement Director for Barclays PCB Digital
Hilda Jenkins has over 15 years as an experienced digital professional working across both financial & retail sectors.
Hilda is currently working for Barclays PLC in the digital division bringing digital transformation & leadership, helping deliver new and exciting customer centric digital propositions that compliment open banking in a post PSD2 world.
Hilda’s role is diverse and involves creating perfect, personalised experiences for customers that use online banking and the Barclays mobile banking app. She manages cross channel capabilities for multiple business verticals including; Retail Current and Savings Accounts, Loans, Mortgages, Premier, Wealth and Corporate customers.
Her early career started at Harvey Nichols delivering their first ecommerce offering. She went on to work at ASOS, the online startup fashion retailer where she delivered their first mobile website in 2009.
Hilda then went on to lead the formation and delivery of Tesco’s digital product/design capabilities for smartphone and tablet across multiple business divisions. She led and built a high-performing product development team and helped establish the London-based facility for the creation of market leading digital experiences with millions of users establishing the foundations of Tesco’s multichannel leadership.
Successfully delivered transformational projects for Tesco on an international scale: new cross-platform online grocery shopping app; MyStore application, a rich digital experience focused on the in-store retail journey; software for the hugely successful Hudl tablet computer.
Hilda is passionate about getting great products out to customers that are built with data driven decisions, have been thoroughly researched and tested to ensure they are best in class.
Specialties: Product management, product development, digital strategy, business development, multichannel experience, mobile commerce, e-commerce, UX, internal startups, digital transformation and leading Agile delivery in large corporate organisations.
Debbie Edwards, CEO, FDisruptors
Debbie Edwards was one of 12 national winners of the 5050 Tech Challenge, a pioneering programme designed my Martha Lane Fox to find and support the next tech female founders of the Future. She has a 25 year career delivering growth strategy and marketing strategy across the corporate, public and charitable sectors as diverse as the Royal Navy and the Royal Marines and the Ruler of Sharjah in the Middle East and most recently implementing an innovative Heath Service into the Spinal Injuries Association and SHINE.
Her current role as CEO and tech female founder finds her working with young women aged 14-24 to develop self-belief, inner strength and to unleash their curiosity about a fulfilling role within tech. Ultimately she believes that it is time to redefine the term 'career' and turn it into a simple quest for fulfilment and lifelong learning.
Rae has eight years of industry experience working across a wide range of emerging technology projects including XBox, Chromecast, Amazon Fire, various connected tv interfaces along with a solid understanding of the new and established principles for mobile tablet and desktop design. Her passion for emerging technology and ideas drives her work, coupled with her strong belief in user-centred design. This results in innovate well formed and tested solutions to complex problems. She has recently been working with a FinTech start-up and is passionate about understanding and designing for people. While understanding their complex relationship with money.
