Dr. Crystal Fleming, How to Be Less Stupid About Race and Kara Murray-Badal, The Mosaic Project
A dynamic conversation about leveraging racial literacy into actionable change.
You are invited to join us for a one-hour, virtual conversation with Dr. Crystal Fleming, acclaimed author of, How to Be Less Stupid About Race: On Racism, White Supremacy, and the Racial Divide and the forthcoming book for young people, Rise Up! How You Can Join the Fight for Racial Justice. Drawing on their shared passion for youth engagement, Dr. Fleming and Mosaic board member Kara Murray-Badal will explore the roots of racial ignorance and reflect on what works, and what doesn’t.
You will learn:
- How to engage youth with their communities and empower them to take action
- How to recognize and talk about structural inequality
- How to leverage empathy, compassion, and assertiveness in the fight for racial justice
- How to stay inspired in the ongoing work of creating a just, inclusive, and peaceful future
This event also serves as a fundraiser for The Mosaic Project’s 20th Anniversary Celebration. Help us prepare for the next 20 years by donating to support our youth programs. All ticket sales will benefit Mosaic youth programs.
Our organization works towards a peaceful, inclusive future by uniting children of diverse backgrounds, providing them with essential community-building skills, and empowering them to become peacemakers. Find additional information about The Mosaic Project and the amazing work it does here.
