Rise Up for Justice
RISE UP FOR JUSTICE - RESCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER 30TH, 2016!!!
The United States leads the industrialized world in its incarceration rate of young people. We must demand reforms and support young people in their efforts to reduce the number of people incarcerated in the U.S. and address the well-known racial and ethnic disparities in the criminal justice system.
How many times have you gone out this past year for a fantastic meal at a delightful restaurant? Why not do that AND experience the added benefit of raising funds, awareness and support for a great cause: Opportunity Youth United (OYU) - a solutions-oriented national movement of young adults who have experienced poverty and are dedicated to creating a society with opportunity and responsibility, love and respect, education and employment, justice and equality for all. James Mackey - our representative honorary recipient - leads the Boston chapter of OYU to disrupt a criminal justice system that is “STUCK ON REPLAY” through educating, informing, training, and advocating. Please support OYU and push “FAST FORWARD" to urge those in positions of power to reform the criminal justice system - one day at a time!
OYU - http://oyunited.org/ - is Black, White, Native American, Latino, Asian, and Mixed Heritage youth working together. OYU has an active membership that reflects different religions, genders and sexual preferences, and geographical areas across the nation. Their vision: a nation where all young people can reach their highest potential and noblest aspirations in the context of supportive, healthy, and inclusive communities.
