Righting Software Day with Juval Löwy
Overview
Righting Software - A Method for System and Project Design
By popular demand, IDesign is excited to offer a shorter, more accessible version of the Architect’s Master Class, perfect for busy architects, project leads, senior developers, and managers. The seminar has two parts: system design and project design. In the system design part, you will see how to break down the system into services based on volatility, rather than based on functionality. Decomposing based on volatility is crucial for responding quickly to changes and lowering the cost of maintenance. With project design, you will learn a continuous design effort flowing from the architecture including calculating the planned duration, cost, and risk and devising several good execution options. Both parts complement each other: you cannot design the project without the architecture, and it is pointless to design a system that you cannot build, or that your team will fail to execute on.
Finally, Juval will discuss the career path of architects, and how architects proactively manage their careers.
