Event description

Description

Expressions of interest are invited from aged care service providers for participation in this five-part program to achieve sustainable, organisational change for LGBTI inclusivity.

This program supports organisations to implement the 6 National Standards for LGBTI inclusive practice and will ensure that your service will confidently provide a culturally safe environment for LGBTI people and also meet your legal obligations for inclusive service provision.

Previous participants have found the training highly useful to their organisation, Sally Komen, General Manager at RAAFAWA says:

“The Right to Belong training is a must for any organisation who wants to meet the National Standards for LGBTI inclusive practice. The trainers are engaging and knowledgeable and provide fantastic resources to assist you in understanding each of the standards, and how to assess whether your organisation meets that standard. The days are spread across the year to enable you to put into practice what you have learnt as well as seek feedback on your progress. I would strongly encourage at least 2 people from an organisation to attend – there is quite a bit of work to change the culture, but made easier with a supportive group.”

Enrolled participants attend the whole course, and are given tools to become change agents within their organisations. The course comprises 2 full days and 3 half-days, with each session held at 6-weekly intervals.

The next course will commence in 2019, dates TBA. Please forward your expression of interest as the course will commence when we have a sufficient level of engagement.

On receipt of your EOI, we will contact you with details of course content, costs and payment options.
