Description

REGISTRATION IS ONLY REQUIRED FOR THE MORNING AND AFTERNOON PADDLES.
Admission to the event is free and all other activities are free.

There’s something for absolutely everyone on this fun-filled day! Breakfast, paddling, obstacle course, live music, beer & wine garden, birding & hiking, Paddler's Village with vendors and activities, and a Scavenger Challenge! All activities takes place on the waterfront in Ridgefield, across from the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge.

9:30AM BIG Paddle - REGISTER ON EVENTBRITE
Join a flotilla of kayaks, big canoes and stand-up paddleboards for a 5 mile, two-hour interpretive tour - a loop along Lake River, through the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge, to the confluence with the Columbia River and returning to the launch site. $5 event fee or $20 for groups up to 6 members. The event fee does not include a rental. Gates open at 7:00AM, advise arrival at least an hour in advance.

You can reserve a spot on one of the 30' BIG canoes or the 30' Chinook canoe. You can bring bring a kayak, canoe or standup paddleboard. FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

There are no ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event. Parents should use best judgment for the paddling tours. Children under 5 may not be ready for the morning interpretive paddle.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There is free parking at the event location on the waterfront. Additional parking is available in downtown Ridgefield, with shuttles back and forth during the day.

What should I bring for the paddle?

A boat - either rent on location or bring your own. Ridgefield Kayak has discounted kayaks and stand-up paddleboards available for the event, but reservations are recommended: at https://aldercreek.com/search/details/77794/ridgefield-7th-annual-big-paddle-day-2018/

Dress for the weather, nylon shorts are good for warmer days. Suggested items may be sunglasses, water bottle, small snack, a towel - and a change of clothes just in case, sunscreen, and waterproof camera.

What's the refund policy?
