Event description

Description

Back for a 3rd amazing year, Ride the Willapa is an all-levels bike ride in the Chehalis River Valley of southwest Washington state. Hosted by Washington State Parks on the Willapa Hills Trail, the level grade trail begins minutes outside Chehalis, WA and will take its travelers west through river valleys, thick forests, over century-old trestles, and provide a chance to visit many beautiful farms. Then you get the chance to Campout at Rainbow Falls State Park in our official Rainbow Falls Campout! On Sunday you'll return to the starting point in Chehalis, thoroughly wrung out from a weekend of pure outdoor, resplendant fun!

New to RTW2018: 4 - 8 miles of new trail to explore! Washington State Parks has been hard at work since our last event, repairing/decking tressles and improving the trail surface heading west from Pe Ell, WA. Depending on how many bridges they get completed by our ride date, we may have a total of 30 miles of trail to explore!

This will put the total, 2-day mileage count at 52 - 60 miles!

Also: To make the experience a little more streamlined and a more customizable option for our riding families, camping will only be available at Rainbow Falls State Park, however the cost of camping is included in your ride admission. Kids under 5 ride free (with a parent - although there is a small camp fee). Please see the "Little Tyke Camper" ticket for more information.

We will have a few pre-sale ticket events, beginning January 2018. Please check back again for more details, and be sure to follow us on Facebook to stay in the know!

We will see you, June 23, 2018!!

As the date approaches, more information will be released about all the exciting details of the event. Please follow us on Facebook to keep in touch and subscribe to our newsletter at ridethewillapa.com!

****Tickets will still be available at the door, however, your admission will not be guaranteed to include a tee shirt or swag bag. This is to respect our volunteer, sponsor, and vendor staff. We appreciate your understanding.

FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Nope! Anyone and everyone is welcome, and kids 5 and under ride free!

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Riders will need to arrange for their own transportation to the event. One great option for carless arrival is utilizing the Amtrak Cascades line, which has a convenient stop in Centralia, WA - just 5 miles from the trailhead. There is also ample free parking available at the Veterans Museum.

What can I bring into the event?

You'll want to bring all the items you'll need for a long-distance bike ride + items for camping. We will have UPS available to porter your belongings to the camp.

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?

Feel free to shoot us an email at ridethewillapa@gmail.com

What's the refund policy?

We understand that sometimes plans change and things come up. We are happy to provide a full refund up until 14 days before the event.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Nope! No physical copy of your registration is needed. Save the paper :)

Can I update my registration information or transfer my ticket to someone else?

As long as we have your accurate and complete information for every rider on the trail by the date of the event, we are all good!

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

For safety reasons, we require that the name on the registration matches the rider who attends.

Do I need to wear a helmet?

ABSOLUTELY. No questions asked.
