Ride the Willapa
More than just a Bike Ride
Ride the Willapa is an all-levels bike ride in the Chehalis River Valley of southwest Washington state. Hosted by Washington State Parks on the Willapa Hills Trail, this historic rail-to-trail route is 45 miles of pure countryside glory. The level grade trail begins minutes outside Chehalis, WA and will take its travelers through river valleys, thick forests, over century-old trestles, and provide a chance to visit many beautiful farms, enjoy the Village Festival in Pe Ell, WA, and finally to camp out under the stars at Rainbow Falls State Park.
Scenic Farm Tours
Enjoy the 2nd annual Tour de Farms
Tour de Farms consists of 5 amazing farms along the Willapa Hills Trail, who are some of the area's finest artisan food producers and rural purveyors of goods. Black Sheep Creamery, Rosecrest Farm, Newaukum Valley Farm, Willapa Hills Creamery, and Wedin Farm welcome you to enjoy their slice of the Chehalis River Valley. Taste their expertly made cheeses and organically grown produce. Make friends with baby sheep and cows. And top it off with a visit to Wedin Farm, where Kathleen Wedin will be hosting many other area farmers, have a small collection of antiques to peruse and purchase, and lunch will be available from Dawn's Delectables, who will be serving wholesome box lunches in the shade at Wedin Farm (we recommend ordering your box lunch ahead of time).

Campout at Rainbow Falls State Park
Relaxing in Nature
New to this year's Ride the Willapa, is the Campout at Rainbow Falls State Park. If you just can't imagine camping without the a roaring fire, the sound of a river close by, and being surrounded by big trees - this is where you're going to want to hang your hat (or rather your helmet) for the night. We'll have some lawn games available to play, BBQ to fill hungry bellies after that awesome ride, and acoustic music and storytelling by the fire. There will also be a few educational booths at the park, to learn more about the Chehalis River Basin and local area history, and a free yoga class in the playfield in the morning.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Nope! Anyone and everyone is welcome.
What kind of bike do I need for the event?
There are many bicycle types that will work great for this ride, which consists primarily of a compacted, crushed gravel surface. However, we do not recommend road bikes with smaller than 700x32c tires.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Riders will need to arrange for their own transportation to the event. There is ample free parking available at the Veterans Museum.
What's the refund policy?
We understand that sometimes plans change and things come up. We are happy to provide a full refund up until 14 days before the event.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Nope! No physical copy of your registration is needed. Save the paper :)
Can I update my registration information?
As long as we have your accurate and complete information by the date of the event, we are all good!
Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
For safety reasons, we require that the name on the registration matches the rider who attends.
Do I need to wear a helmet?
ABSOLUTELY. No questions asked.
