Event Details

Ride Sharing and Driverless Vehicles - more or less congestion and sprawl?

The event will be in the form of a debate with two teams of four people. One team will present arguments for the case that ride sharing and driverless vehicle technology will solve city challenges (congestion and urban sprawl), by reducing cars on the road,  freeing up streets and parking lots for place-making and rich urban spaces. The other team will present arguments for the case that ride sharing and driverless technology will induce greater demand for travel resulting in more cars on the road and even greater spreading out of the city.

Each speaker will have 3 minutes to present their case. After all have presented individual cases, summaries for each side will be presented, followed by a vote by the audience and the winning team announced.
