Rick Overton: Substitute Global Ambassador / Directed by Eve Brandstein
Thursday, March 15, 2012 from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM (PDT)
Award winning Comedian & Comedy Writer Rick Overton, directed by Eve Brandstein, will appear at Beyond Baroque in Venice to a headline a one man show "Rick Overton: Substitute Global Ambassador".
DIRECTORS NOTE: I met Rick Overton at a casting session in the early 80's and knew instantly he was the real thing - original, thought provoking and super talented. He was then, is still now, one of the most electric and swift talents on the scene. Not only is he able to do high octane improv, he is also an actor who has appeared in over 100 films and tv shows and he is an Emmy award winning writer. He can go round for round against any stand-up talent currently performing. He has mentored, influenced and inspired three decades of comedy performers. It is a great honor to be able to collaborate with him on his journey as the Substitute Global Ambassador. - Eve Brandstein
Rick Overton: Substitute Global Ambassador
The news is out! The Aliens have landed and they want to what Humankind is all about. But unfortunately, Global Ambassador Harrison Keane has the flu!! He's bedridden and now must miss the event his entire life had been building up to.
INTER-STEL, The agency that's been assigned the task of greeting our extra terrestrial visitors has, in their finite wisdom, decided to send in Keane's "Speech Punch-Up Gag Writer" in his place. So get ready for RICK OVERTON, SUBSTITUTE GLOBAL AMBASSADOR!
The visitors are only able to breathe our air for an hour which means Rick won't have much time to explain our culture and answer their questions. He'll have to improvise his ass off to keep up his cover as representative for all of Earth.
Robin Williams says "Watching RICK OVERTON, SUBSTITUTE GLOBAL AMBASSADOR is like seeing Chauncy Gardner channeling Ambrose Bierce."
RICK OVERTON is an Emmy award winning writer, comedian and actor best known for his political and social comedy.
