The Fry-Jefferson Map Society hosts this map program with Mark Olinger, who is the Director of the Department of Planning & Development Review for the City of Richmond. Olinger’s presentation will focus on the history of city planning in Richmond and how it relates to current efforts to improve the city. His talk coincides with the recent acquisition by the Library of Virginia of a collection of fascinating historical planning charts and maps for the city from the archives of City Hall. A few items from this collection will be on display during the program.
