Description

What better book to feature on Independent Bookstore Day than a book about our awesome city? Meet Richard Retyi, co-creator of the podcast Ann Arbor Stories, as he talks about his collection, The Book of Ann Arbor! About The Book of Ann Arbor A suicide submarine parade. Ann Arbor's top 10 astronauts. Shakey Jake, The Embassy Hotel and stories of trains crashing into buildings. The birth of Iggy Pop. Punching Nazis. The day the dictator came to town. The music mobile, the naked mile and a brief history of poop. Plus a few tales of murder, because it happens here too. These are a few of the 41 stories that make up the book of Ann Arbor. About the Author Richard Retyi is the author of nothing prior to this and co-creator of the podcast Ann Arbor Stories, which is something that exists. He is supported in his endeavors by his wife, Rachel, daughter Sasha (whose favorite game is called running) and son, Charlie (who currently has six teeth). Plus three cats and a council of trusted advisors. He wasn't born in Ann Arbor, but he will probably die there.
