This unique event is an interactive drum workshop led by educator and fastest drummer in the world, Riccardo Merlini, along with renowned drum educator and author Alex Cohen. Attendees will play along on their own individual drum practice pads, and enjoy a rare opportunity to ask questions, get feedback, and take their drum game to the next level from world-famous drummers!

The class will focus on increasing speed and accuracy using Riccardo’s exclusive and proven hand technique, as well as Alex’s drum kit and foot technique. Attendees can expect a rotation of challenging physical drumming exercises involving wrists, hands, fingers, and feet.

If you are a drummer that values lifelong improvement and pursuit of excellence, you don’t want to miss this opportunity! Slots are limited to just 20, so reserve your slot before it fills up.

What to bring:

Attendees must bring their own drum sticks and practice pad. 7DrumCity can loan out practice pads and/or stands to those in need, or sell new drum sticks if needed. Water bottles are encouraged too to stay hydrated!

"Bring your pad and drum sticks, I am waiting for you and I will melt your wrists..." - Riccardo Merlini

Here is a video of roughly what to expect, with attendees following along with Riccardo on practice pads.

Riccardo Merlini is an Italian drummer known for having the fastest hands on the planet. He graduated from the Music Conservatory of Francesco Venezze in Italy, and also studied extensively in Boston with Dream Theater drummer Mike Mangini. As a teacher and clinician, Riccardo has discovered and developed a hand technique that allows him to reach incredible speeds of 400 beats per minute with a single stroke roll. Riccardo has instructed drummers from all over the world including superstar percussionist Eric Bobo of Cypress Hill, and Mike Reid of Rhianna and Janet Jackson. Throughout his career, he has enjoyed educating thousands of amateur drummers who want to improve their skills. Riccardo has also performed and toured around the world with a variety of professional rock and metal bands.

Named by Drumhead Magazine as one of the drummers 'Raising the Bar' with cutting-edge concepts, New York-born Alex Cohen has made a career of releasing innovative, progressive, and boundary-pushing content.

His first book 'Ultimate Progressive Drumming', released on Hudson Music, was hailed as 'a modern classic' by drummers ranging from Charley Drayton, to Derek Roddy, to Robby Ameen.

Alongside drummers Yoni Madar and Ramon Montagner (also featured on the same cover) they've worked together to release and teach ideas that push the boundaries of contemporary drumset playing. Cohen's second book with Montagner entitled 'Extreme Speed and Polyrhythmic Concepts' is due in March on Hudson Music, and has already received acclaim from drummers such as Aquiles Priester, Eloy Casagrande, Dan Weiss, Ari Hoenig, Steve Lyman, and Drumeo.

In addition to his teaching, Alex also runs a high-end recording studio in PA, and enjoys a busy session schedule as well.
