Terri Lyne Carrington, säje, and Patrice Rushen in concert followed by a conversation regarding their the artist's experiences in jazz.

About this event

In an extraordinary union, legendary drummer Terri Lyne Carrington, vocal supergroup säje (rhymes with “beige”), and award-winning pianist and USC Thornton professor Patrice Rushen will join artistic forces to perform original compositions, contemporary covers, and jazz standards while challenging barriers in the jazz industry and advocating for change in society. Following the concert, they will discuss their experiences and efforts as women and BIPOC artists in jazz with USC professor Lanita Jacobs. Bassist Anna Butterss and USC’s premiere vocal jazz ensemble CreSCendo will also perform.
