Are you ready to RHoK?
Random Hacks of Kindness is here in Lusaka, Zambia this weekend at Bongohive. RHoK is an initiative that invites the most innnovative minds to solve real life problems for real life people. Coding marathons are organised as weekend events in various places all over the world. Not only do we get some brilliantly practical solutions from these events but there are usually rewards and prizes.
The Peace Corps Innovation Challenge
The Peace Corps is a program that sends volunteers of all ages to work for social and economic development throughout the world. These volunteers are on the ground addressing some of the most challenging problems facing humanity today. We, as the RHoK community, can work together with these volunteers to help identify solutions help the communities these volunteers work with address their day to day needs and goals.
Once problems are reviewed and refined, developers, technologists, Peace Corps Volunteers, entrepreneurs and other innovators will team up to develop solutions during a 2 day hackathon (1st and 2nd June).
Our previous RHoK hackathon, resulted in the Bantu Babel App which has received a lot of praise and is definitely making an impact in communication between Zambians and foreigners.
