February is American Heart Month. During this month the women of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will join millions of Americans in the fight against heart disease in women by wearing RED.

Heart disease is the number 1 killer of women, taking the life of one in three women each year. This is especially important for African-American women, who have an increased risk due to factors such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, obesity, and diabetes.

On Friday, February 5, 2021 (6pm - 7:30pm), Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., the Rho Psi Omega Chapter will host a FREE virtual Pink Goes Red Event.

Please join us for an active healthy heart program for the entire family. This will be a fun opportunity to learn more about heart health while getting active.

Location: Virtual - once you register you will receive a Zoom link for the event. Please make sure you provide a working email address.

Below you will find a waiver that needs to be complete to participate in the Pink Goes Red event. Registering for the event indicates that you agree to the content covered in the release form.

GENERAL RELEASE FORM FOR EVENTBRITE OR OTHER ELECTRONIC REGISTRATION

By participating in Pink Goes Red, you agree to adhere to all instructions, guidelines, and safety rules. In addition, you acknowledge that participation in the program exposes you to a possibility of personal injury. You, being fully aware that participation in the program exposes you to a possible risk of personal injury, hereby release Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Rho Psi Omega Chapter from any and all liability from property damage, personal injuries, or other claims arising from or in connection with your participation in the program including claims that are known and unknown, foreseen and unforeseen, future or contingent. You further release Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Rho Psi Omega Chapter from any and all liability from any injury, damage or loss sustained by participants, guests or vehicles before, during or after the Pink Goes Red as a result of your participation in the event or associated events (this includes food or beverage consumption prepared and distributed).

By participating in Pink Goes Red, or as the parent/legal guardian of the participant in Pink Goes Red, you authorize Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Rho Psi Omega Chapter and those acting for and with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Rho Psi Omega Chapter to use interview, photograph, video and/or audio record you, without compensation in any medium, including print, electronic (web-based), social media material for educational, promotional and marketing purposes. This authorization shall extend to all languages, media, formats and markets now known or later discovered. This authorization shall continue indefinitely unless you revoke this authorization in writing. You waive your right to inspect or approve any finish product in which your likeness is used. You will make no monetary or other claim in connection with the authorized use of your name or photos, video, interviews, and quotes.

You acknowledge that you have read and fully understand the General Release Form. You release Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Rho Psi Omega Chapter and their partner organizations and employee of all liability. This agreement is a release of all liability and a contract enforceable against you (and your heirs, legal representatives, guardian, executors, successors, and assigns) in a court of law. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Rho Psi Omega Chapter reserves the right to revise these regulations and/or terminate this agreement at its sole discretion. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Rho Psi Omega Chapter reserves the right to remove any displays or deny entry to any group(s) that do not meet the standards set forth by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated® Rho Psi Omega Chapter and their partner organizations employee by in the guidelines. You understand that there are no refunds or rain checks due to inclement weather or any other circumstances.
