Event description

Description

The Residential Green Building Committee is focused on improving the housing stock of the Commonwealth by championing green building practices in our communities. Join us on the second Monday of each month to be a part of the movement.

This meeting's guest speaker will be Rick Nortz from Mitsubishi.

Rick Nortz is the Manager of Utility and Efficiency Program at Mitsubishi Electric. Rick has been in the industry for nearly 15 years, working the first 7 years for an HVAC contractor in Metro-West before moving to a manufacturer. In his current role, he works with programs that promote heat pumps due to their energy efficiency benefits both residentially and commercially. Mitsubishi Electric has been manufacturing and selling heat pumps in the United States for over 35 years. Over the last 10 years, Mitsubishi Electric has been the market leader in the fastest growing segment of the HVAC industry, ductless heat pumps.

Rick will be speaking about the benefits and proper applications of Cold Climate Heat Pumps. He will also review programs available in Massachusetts offered by the state and local utilities to promote the use of these systems. Cold Climate Heat Pumps, introduced around 2010 are seriously changing the paradigm and turning skeptics into believers in heat pumps.
