Description

RG Nets rXg Fundamentals Class @ c3con19

Three day training class for current and future network operators of the RG Nets revenue eXtraction gateway.

The fundamentals course spans three days and spans five flights. Each session is introduced with a theory lecture and is followed by a hands-on technical exercise configuring an rXg within a simulated wired and wireless network.

Topics Covered:

  • rXg product overview
  • bootstrapping an rXg on bare metal
  • bootstrapping a standalone rXg in virtualization
  • rXg WiNG integration
  • rXg ExOS integration
  • standard WAN, SD-WAN, cgNAT
  • LAN, VLAN, RADIUS controlled DVLAN
  • combining DVLAN microsegmentation with cgNAT and dynamic BiNAT for PAN and vRG
  • rXg policy engine theory of operation and practical SDN orchestration implementation
  • basic troubleshooting

An optional certification exam may be taken at the end of the course. Concepts and sample networks defined in the sessions are covered in the exam. Successful completion of this exam is a prerequisite for attending advanced training classes.

Location

The training course will be held at Venue 8600 in Scottsdale. The course starts just after lunch on Monday to give people from around the continental USA to be able to fly into PHX airport the first morning. The event ends on Wednesday just before the opening reception for c3con19.

NFR Demo kits

The tuition for the class may optional include a NFR Demo Kit. There are two options for the NFR kit: bare metal and VMware. The bare metal NFR kit is a small rXg that runs rXg natively on the hardware. The VMware NFR kit runs VMware ESXi and will allow you to install an rXg in virtualization during the class. The VMware NFR kit also allows you to load a virtualized wireless controller such as a Ruckus vSZ or a Extreme WiNG VX9000.

You will take the NFR kit with you upon completion of the course. Many of our students replace their home residential gateways with this equipment.

Students who to take the class without buying the NFR equipment will be using a shared VMware environment that will support the entire class. These students will not have the option to install rXg from scratch as the enviromnet is shared.
