More than ever, we need systemic, sustainable changes in Hollywood to make the entertainment industry a more equitable and inclusive place.
Movikarma is hosting the first-ever Rewriting Hollywood Summit. Named after our award-winning podcast that spotlights underrepresented talent and social impact projects around the world, the Rewriting Hollywood Summit provides an interactive, virtual space that features engaging panel discussions with Oscar-nominated filmmakers and working industry professionals, social impact film screenings, a live pitch competition and discussions with 2023 Oscar Nominees.
Join our Rewriting Hollywood Summit on Thursday, April 6th between 10am - 1pm PT.
Here's a rundown of the Summit events:
10am PT | Industry Panel featuring industry leaders such as Bree Frank, SVP of Physical Production at Hello Sunshine (founded by Oscar-winning actor/producer Reese Witherspoon)
11am PT | Filmmakers Panel featuring award-winning filmmakers, such as Oscar-nominated filmmakers Simon Lereng Wilmont (A HOUSE MADE OF SPLINTERS) and Debra McClutchy (THE MARTHA MITCHELL EFFECT)
12pm PT | Pitch Competition (invite-only) featuring original project pitches from independent and underrepresented creatives! Want to pitch your original idea for a TV series? Submit your idea here!

About the organizer
Movikarma is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Los Angeles that empowers underrepresented filmmakers and fosters inclusion, equity, representation, and social impact in Hollywood. Founded in 2020 by Jared Milrad, the organization hosts a monthly digital-first film festival and a podcast called Rewriting Hollywood, in addition to other initiatives and special events that expand opportunities for underprivileged talent. To date, Movikarma has worked with hundreds of underrepresented filmmakers from 50+ countries, and elevated underrepresented creative voices throughout the industry. With the support of WarnerMedia, and through pioneering relationships with Netflix, Amazon Studios, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Sony, Paramount, Participant Media, Bad Robot, and other leading companies, organizations, and award-winning underrepresented talent, Movikarma is focused on transforming Hollywood to become a more inclusive and impactful industry.
