The climate crisis is close at hand, and the use of new sustainable materials has become a topic of growing and urgent conversation. In this session, we’ll discuss projects that look towards a circular economy.
Speakers
Seetal Solanki - Materials designer, researcher and author of Why Materials Matter: Responsible Design for a Better World. She is the Founder and Director of the materials research design studio Ma-tt-er. Seetal will provide insight into emerging trends in new materials and techniques.
Tom Meades - Future-thinking sustainable and circular designer, and green entrepreneur. Tom launched Gomi Design to prove that “non-recyclable” waste streams can be made desirable through strategic product design. They have launched two products on Kickstarter; including colourful speakers made from upcycled e-bike batteries.
There will be plenty of time for discussion and Q&A after the brief presentations.
