Description

Rewilding Honey Bees - The Whole Hive Being

“Protecting the source, inspiring the future”

Log hives beautifully provide the bees an opportunity to live as bees intend to live, in tune with their own seasonal rhythms. Natural nest habitat is an essential aspect of preservation and renewal of honey bee health and resiliency. The desire to help to the bees is present in many people, yet many do not necessarily want to become “beekeepers”. Rewilding and the restoration of natural honey bee nest habitat are part of an effort to restore genetic diversity, adaptability, and vitality to honey bees.

In this workshop, Michael will explore the indigenous craft of arboreal apiculture, (tree bee-tending) biodynamic practices, log hives and natural nest habitat. The workshop will provide tools for design and implementation of rewilded apiaries. This workshop is an opportunity to think literally “outside the box”.

Saturday Evening Constellation: Apis Sophia - “Wisdom”

The bees teach the mystery of becoming. Through them, we can tap into the fluidity of our own identity and experience a deeply interconnected sense of selves. The practice connecting with the bees is medicine for body, mind, and soul, and a prayer for the healing of our planet

Sunday Morning Event: Apis Arborea Gesture

As a gesture of honor to the honey bees and their dedicated service to life on the planet, we will make an offering with the installation of a log hive into the local landscape. It is an act of gratitude to the Whole Hive Being and to the effort of rewilding honey bees.
