About this event
Organized by a collective of local nonprofit organizations, including Men Who Care, EMIR, Nicetown CDC, Urgent 365, We Heard You, Marjaan Horses, and Society’s Roses, Reviving the Village Unity Fair: Northwest Edition is an opportunity for community members to connect with Uptown nonprofit organizations, get food, participate in workshops, support local businesses, and/or get job support. Starting with a Revive the Village Walk at Roosevelt Elementary and ending at Martin Luther King Jr. High School for the Unity Fair, there will be activities for people of all ages including children and seniors, in addition to performances by local artists.
With a heartbreaking spike in homicides and carjackings in Philadelphia and increased involvement of youth in these activities, our city has been crying out for help for years. At the same time, numerous organizations are working diligently to provide resources and opportunities that meet the needs of community members so they don’t have to turn to criminal activity. The issue is, there’s currently no place for residents to learn about and connect with all of the local organizations that serve them. That is, until now. The purpose of the Reviving the Village Unity Fair is to connect community members with agencies, organizations and resources that exist to meet their needs. Our vision is to highlight local opportunities, provide resources, and cultivate relationships in our community to shift negative behaviors and improve positive outcomes by offering support and healthy outlets for neighbors of all ages.
MASKS ARE REQUIRED regardless of vaccination status.
