Description

Jonathan Edwards and George Whitefield

June 3-8

Monday - Friday 6-10 PM and Saturday 8 AM-Noon

Cost of class: $100

Course Description:

This course examines the life and theology of Jonathan Edwards (the most renowned theologian of the 18th century) and George Whitefield (possibly the greatest evangelist who ever lived and the most famous man in America prior to the Revolutionary War). This study also focuses on the influence of New England Theology on the socio-political issues of the day, including slavery. It covers the incredible spiritual revival of the Great Awakening contrasted with the philosophical ideas associated with the Enlightenment and Deism. The contributions of Edwards and Whitefield to the evangelical movement in America continue to provide lessons for life and ministry today.
