Description
Arizona Savory Hub is an Urban Farm that is restoring Arizona's grasslands using holistic land management. We helped to restore more than 600 acres across Arizona and are determined to teach others how to restore more land.
Arizona Savory Hub is lead by Ricardo Aguirre. Ricardo is a Holistic Engineer and Land Manager who grew up raising cattle, is certified in water harvesting from the Water Management Group, an accredited professional in Holistic Management an Envision Sustainability Professional through the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure, a certified floor plan manager and a registered professional civil engineer.
We use a variety of land management techniques such as water harvesting, permaculture, and of course holistic land practices to create a thriving ecosystem which requires minimal maintenance, waste, and water. We also use a variety of regenerative land management techniques. We focus on utilizing our land’s own resources to maximize natures abundance in efforts to live primarily off our own land.
During your visit at AZ Savory Hub you will see first hand how to implement holistic land practices on your own property such as:
-Rain Tanks/Cisterns (8,000 gallons at the Savory Hub)
-Earthworks including 8 cascading basins with animal impact
-Greywater System
-Food Forest/Edible Gardens
-Native Plants
-Fruit Trees
-Chickens
-Compost
-keyhole garden design with cistern connected Ollas
-Integrated Garden System (combines aquaponics and soil)
Join us on the third Saturday of each month, as Ricardo shows you the tactics and techniques listed above, which he has personally used to restore his own urban property right here in Phoenix.
Please wear closed toed shoes, bring water, and a friend! See you soon!
