Event description

Description

This seminar will revisit the principles of “research-led teaching” in higher education. Dr. Kate Button (University of Bath) will discuss her experiences of aligning research and teaching through undergraduate thesis supervision. In addition, practical guidance in using open source technology (Open Science Framework – www.osf.io ) to support research-led teaching activities will be provided.

This seminar will be of interest to:

Higher education staff, including lecturers, researchers, post-doctoral scholars, and course/programme directors seeking to:

Reflect on the interface between their research and teaching activities

Identify areas of potential integration in their own research and teaching activities and in their disciplines, more broadly

Develop ICT skills to support research-led teaching

The workshop will be of particular interest to those interested in developing student research skills (e.g., through engagement in a dissertation or thesis). It is intended to be inclusive for staff across the spectrum of engagement in research activities - all are welcome.
