Event description

Description

CLASS DESCRIPTION Learn to make a "lentil-shape" pendant that you'll be proud to wear on its own, or that you can later string as a focal point in your own beaded creation. If you wish, you can also learn an interesting way to add a cubic zirconia to one side in order to increase the bling-factor on your stunning, silver creation.

PLEASE NOTE: Pieces will be fired after class, and available for pick-up at Artsmiths one week later.

INSTRUCTOR For the past decade Carol Scheftic has been working with and teaching classes using a range of different “powder metallurgy” techniques. Carol has been certified as a metal clay Artisan by Rio Grande (a major jewelry supply company and importer of the PMC-brand of precious metal clays) and accredited as an Instructor in a program organized by Hadar Jacobson (USA-based inventor, manufacturer, and distributor of a line of base metal clays). She is a member of the Cranberry Artists Network, the Pittsburgh Society of Artists, and the International Guild of Miniature Artisans.

SKILL LEVEL ALL - Beginners welcome!

TUITION $65 (due at time of registration) + MATERIAL FEE $55 (payable to instructor) + EVENTBRITE FEE $4.57 (due at time of registration)

MATERIAL COST(S) / BENCH FEE The $55 materials fee includes:

  • enough silver clay to make one reversible pendant
  • one cubic zirconia, 4 to 6 mm
  • the use of all the instructor's tools; consumables, firing & (optional) polishing

Extra clay, should you want to work very large, will be available in $10 increments.

INSTRUCTOR WILL BRING Printed information and all the tools and consumables needed to complete the project.

CLASS MINIMUM 4 students.

REFUND / CANCELLATION POLICY Our instructors require a minimum number of students to teach. In order to minimize cancellations that inconvenience our instructors and other students, class cancellations must be made at least 72 hours prior to the start of class. Students who comply with this requirement will receive a full refund. Students who do not comply will be subject to a $25 cancellation fee.
