Event description

Description

Though Hari Meyers has gathered audiences for over 25 years as a story-teller, he has never before shared in public his great enthusiasm for classical music. He would now like to share his decades long passion for four great musical masses:
Bach's Mass in B Minor
Haydn's Misa in tempore belli,
Mozart's Great Mass in C Minor
Beethoven's Missa Solemnis.
This will not be a talk of musical analysis (Hari has no training in music) nor will it be a dogmatic exploration of the Latin mass (Hari is not Christian or Catholic) but rather an uplifting spiritual communication of what these sublime compositions may teach us of the profound relationship of humankind to its Creator.

"I have listened carefully to many Masses over decades and feel I understand something essential in them. I believe that if I compare passages from these four great masses I can help an audience appreciate what these undeniably great composers have to deliver and illuminate about our eternal relationship to the Divine, our prayers, our pleas, our praise, our doubts and our aspirations."
