Description

ReUnity Games is the next iteration of the Unity Games all-day event. It will be a single day board gaming experience bringing individuals and gaming groups together to play games, meet new people and generally be good to each other. It will include all the same things that made Unity Games so great…

  • Shared community library of games
  • Math Trade
  • BGG Auction
  • Learn to Play area
  • Charity Auction

ReUnity will be taking place on Saturday September 28th, 2019 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Boston North Shore in Danvers MA and will run from 9:00am to midnight. Tickets are available for $20.

Hotel rooms will be available via a hotel group block at a rate of $169/night. As in years past, people staying Friday night will be gathering the night before to get their game on early. Book your room in the block (and help ReUnity Games out in the process) by clicking the link below:

FAQs

How will I get my badge at the event?

Badges will be available for pickup at the event. Please bring the ticket you get from Eventbrite, either printed or on your device.

Is there an age limit to enter the event?

All attendees 10 and older must have a valid badge. Children under the age of 10 must always be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian; minors age 10-17 must have a responsible guardian present at all times.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

DoubleTree by Hilton Boston North Shore, located 19 miles from downtown Boston and Logan International Airport, is at the intersection of I-95 and US1 in Danvers, MA. The hotel has a large parking area. Parking in front of the hotel is extremely limited but the side lots are ample.

Boston-Logan International Airport( BOS) is the closest airport. For driving directions, please visit the hotel website.

What can/can't I bring to the event?

Our on-site game library will be limited to games brought by attendees to share. To increase the size of the game library attendees are encouraged to bring games from their collection to play. We will provide tables on which to share with other attendees or to store your games.

You are welcome to bring snack foods and water bottles or similar with you, but we ask to avoid bringing messy foods. ie, granola bars and water are cool, but don't bring a rotisserie chicken. There is a restaurant in the hotel, as well as boxed lunches available for purchase during the lunch and dinner hours. Additionally, there are a number of food options a short car ride away outside of the hotel.

Alcohol is not permitted in the gaming space or outside of the on-site bar during ReUnity Games (hotel policy). There is an onsite restaurant/bar where you can purchase a beer, cocktail, or glass of wine at a reasonable price, though.

Will there be a way to find players and/or teachers for games?

Yes! We will be utilizing a "players wanted" and "teachers wanted" flag system for the tables to make it visually easy to find. We will also have a customized hashtag you can use to streamline it via Twitter.

Additionally, we will have an “learn to play” area where game teachers will be available to teach certain games throughout the day. A list of what games will be taught and when will be made available online at http://ReUnityGames.com closer to the event.

What charity are we donating to?

One of the strongest leaders in our community was Adam Smiles. Adam passed away on May 12th of this year after losing his battle with cancer. Not only did he help run the original Unity Games convention, he also co-ran Lobster Trap and was an admin on BGG.

We can think of no better dedication to him then to bring back this special event. To bring joy to hundreds of people that he has influenced directly or indirectly because of how committed he was to all of us.

During ReUnity Games we will be collecting money in a varitey of ways: holding a silent auction, 50% of T-Shirt sales, and voluntary contributions at the door or via Eventbrite.

How does the Charity Auction work?

Many individuals and local board game businesses have donated items. This will be a silent style auction. There will be items out on display near registration. Each item will have a sheet of paper to make bids. All the proceeds from this will be donated in the name of Adam Smiles.
