Description
Earlier this year a series of briefings were held across the Bay to share survey data on the space crisis facing nonprofits in six Bay Area counties (San Francisco, Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Mateo, Santa Clara). It confirmed how serious a concern and problem this is for the nonprofit community. Respondents (82%) were especially worried about sustaining their work in the face of rising office space costs in the region and two out of three nonprofits will be entering this volatile market within the next five years.
Many of you participated in these briefings and shared your ideas of what philanthropy, government, and other stakeholders could do to address this issue. We're holding this forum to share the priorities that emerged from those convenings and provide you with feedback on the solutions we’re now pursuing.
