Organizer Samuel Duell

Organizer of Retirement U Two Day Course in Appleton, WI

Today we are living in a different world than we did just 20 years ago. The death of newspapers, the rise of social media, and the advent of smartphones have all changed the way we do things.

Retirement has also changed. People are living longer and more vigorously. The instant dissemination of news and a vicious political climate has led to whiplash in the marketplace. As someone who can realistically expect to be retired for 20 or 30 years, you no doubt feel a lot of uncertainty. When should you retire? Can you stay retired? And will you run out of money?

My name is Sam Duell, and I’ve seen a lot of changes since I began my career in the financial service industry back in 2000. But one thing hasn’t changed, and that’s the old-fashioned way that I like to do business. Back when I was working for another company and seeing to the coordination of employee benefits, I noticed how everything the firm did was generic. The investment advice for a 22-year-old was the same as the advice for a 65-year-old, with the same pie charts and choices that did nothing to give a personalized strategy designed to take care of the individual.

That is not the way we do things here.

I founded Duell Financial Strategies because your challenges when retiring today are diverse and complex, with a multitude of issues that weren’t even relative 20 years ago. Future healthcare implications and tax hikes, the timing of Social Security and the impact of sudden loss all make it critical that you position your savings correctly to meet your goals. That’s why at our firm we take every client through a Retirement Lifestyle Review.

The foundation of this process is our belief that purpose determines placement. Because we live in a sales-oriented world, we often find that many of the portfolios we review are set up with a one-size-fits-all mentality. When these different components don’t compliment each other, the portfolio is not as efficient as it needs to be. When a strategy is structured and well-thought-out, when clearly defined goals are written into the plan, then you have a direct line of sight to your future. Using the best of modern technology, proprietary software, and customized reports, we can show you exactly where you are now, how far away you are from reaching your goals, and how to get where you want to go—and stay. Destination: Retirement.

I realize that many of you view financial advisors as someone you believe but do not trust. That’s why I like to go back to basics and keep things simple. At our firm, we answer our phones, and we meet with you face-to-face. We offer access to virtually every kind of strategy, investment, and insurance solution you could possibly need. I invite you to experience our customized process, one designed to give you a greater sense of certainty with your retirement plan so that, finally, you can breathe a sigh of relief.
