Event Details

Dr. Jenkins is an internationally recognized and respected leader in minority health research. Dr. Jenkins has coordinated center-wide programs in HIV, STDs, and tuberculosis targeting minority
populations. As an expert in biostatistics, epidemiology, bioethics, and community organizing, Dr. Jenkins has helped to establish a number of organizations and programs. He established the MPH program at Morehouse School of Medicine, as well as the National Minority HIV Prevention Program. He has also served as a Co-Founder of the Public Health Sciences Institute at Morehouse College, and Founder of Project IMHOTEP, a cooperative program to train minority students in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, & Environmental Health.

SAAPHI is a non-profit (501c3) national public health organization comprised of researchers, physician and health advocates dedicated to improving the overall health of African-Americans. The organization promotes and utilizes research to inform scientific knowledge, program development and policy decisions.  The Scientific Committee is responsible for organizing the Annual SAAPHI Scientific Symposium at the annual BCHW/SAAPHI pre-conference meeting and hosting a quarterly webinar series promoting science that contributes to the overall mission of SAAPHI.
