Event description

Description

Are you concerned that the UK's current approach to national security is failing to meet the real needs of people here and abroad? Do you think that we need to develop a different vision and strategy for tackling the challenges of today’s world? Do you agree that a fresh approach needs to be rooted in values of solidarity, justice and respect for our interdependence?

The Ammerdown Group: Rethinking Security is holding a one-day workshop in London on Thursday 4th May. The purpose of the event is to identify ideas for action to advance the ‘rethinking security’ agenda, based on the principles and proposals set out in this document: http://bit.ly/2nnvtzq and on our website: www.rethinkingsecurity.org.uk.

If you support these ideas and would like to contribute to efforts to promote a new agenda for security, then please come along! The workshop will provide opportunities to hear more about the Rethinking Security initiative, meet other people who are interested in these questions, and work together to identify opportunities for action.

The event is free and open to all. Tea and coffee will be available from 10.30am for an 11am start. Please bring your own lunch. Space is limited so please RSVP as soon as you can and no later than Friday 21st April. Further information is available from celia@rethinkingsecurity.org.uk.
