Event description

Description

Dominique DuBois Gilliard calls for a holy disruption of the systems and pipelines that imprison mostly black and brown people in the United States' mass-incarceration-industrial complex. Mr. Gilliard will challenge and encourage people of faith to engage in justice that is restorative. He will also educate on how the prison and judicial system has always been a reflection of systemic racism in America.

It is vitally important that the church understands its role in engaging with mass incarceration and its effects. It is also important to explore the connections between the rate of incarceration with certain historical events and changes in legislation.

Join author and speaker Dominique Gilliard for a discussion on his book "Rethinking Incarceration: Advocating for Justice that Restores." Books will be available for sale after the event.
