Event description
Renegade Economist Della Duncan on the alternative economic models and movements to help usher in the changes needed to save the world.

About this Event

We’re excited to announce an open-to-the-public addition to our Right Livelihood and the New Economy Retreat that features Renegade Economist and Upstream Podcast Host Della Duncan. Della’s evening discussion will center on the alternative economic models and movements to help usher in the changes needed to make our societies more resilient in the face of climate change, biodiversity loss, financial instability, food security, and inequality.

Drawing on the traditions of Buddhist Economics, Feminist Economics, Solidarity Economics, and New Economics, Della will weave together poetry, stories, and collected wisdom to invite us to see economics and our relationship to it with new eyes.

Della Duncan is a facilitator who invites opportunities for personal and systemic transformation for a more equitable, sustainable, and enlivened world. She has had training in traditions and practices including the Work that Reconnects, Theater of the Oppressed, Theory U, improv games, restorative justice, mindfulness, and non-violent communication. She holds an MA in Economics for Transition with Distinction from Schumacher College, a BA in International Relations and Sociology with highest honors from the University of California, Davis, a graduate certificate in Authentic Leadership from Naropa University, and has completed Joanna Macy’s Work that Reconnects Intensive Program. She is the host of the Upstream Podcast about alternative economics, an Atlantic Fellow of Social and Economic Equity at the International Inequalities Institute at the London School of Economics, a partner of the Eurasia Learning Institute, a Right Livelihood coach, and an alternative economics consultant.

This discussion is a gift offered for the Right Livelihood and the New Economy Retreat participants and also open to the public.
