Event description

Description

Underlying many social issues is a single but massive problem; poverty. Before we can begin to alleviate poverty, we must try to understand it.

Please join us for a one day workshop to learn a comprehensive approach to understanding poverty!

Bridges Out of Poverty (Morning Session) uses the lens of economic class and provides concrete tools and strategies for a community to elevate poverty.

Poverty Simulation (Afternoon Session) breaks down stereotypes by allowing participants to step into the real life situations of others. Poverty is often portrayed as a stand alone issue - but this simulation allows individuals to walk a month in the shoes of someone who is facing poverty and realize how complex and interconnected issues of poverty really are.

Registration begins at 7:45am. Lunch will be provided to those who register for the full day of training! Please register by August 19, 2019.

If you have additional questions, please contact Elizabeth Terry at 518-873-3857.
