Event Details

This is a follow up Food Code food safety workshop for Environmental Health and Food Safety Professionals.  The following topics will be covered either in brief or in depth based on the participants wishes.

  • Food Code Microbiology (Microbiological Hazards)
  • Hazards Controls based on FAT TOM (or the PHF/TCS tables)
  • Overview of Food Code based Special Process HACCP
  • Fermentations (Dairy, Vegetable, and the weird stuff)
  • Ethnic food discussions (black garlic, peking duck, Bahn tet, and ??)
  • HACCP validations (self audits and inspection audits)

The workshop is presented by Dr. Brian A. Nummer of the Retail-foodservice food safety consortium. Dr. Nummer is a subject matter expert in ROP, food microbiology, and sanitation. Dr. Nummer is a food microbiologist and Extension Food Safety Specialist with Utah State University with over 25 years’ experience in the field. He is probably the only readily available ROP Process Authority in the nation.  All participants receive a workshop certificate from the Retail-foodservice food safety consortium.

FAQs

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?  Can I update my registration information? The name on the registration doesn't match the attendee.  Just update your registration from the link box in your confirmation email.  Certificates will be issued to named registrants, sent to the email address provided.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? No.

What is the refund policy? You may request a full refund up until 7 days before the event. 

Are there CEUs? Yes, submit your certificate to NEHA for 16 CEUs.

Parking? The class will be held in the "Blenco Auditorium" which housed in the Technology Resource Center, Building C (please see campus map link below).  Parking is available next to the Old Public Health Bldg, across the street, on the other side of Jefferson Avenue NE.
