Event description

Exploring the impact of trauma, and the journey toward restoration.

Have you experienced emotional, spiritual, or relational trauma?

Have you experienced issues like shame, abuse, betrayal, or powerlessness in harmful life events?

Has someone you love experienced trauma?

Does your work with people involve engaging with those who've experienced trauma?

Sometimes it's hard to grasp exactly how harmful events have impacted our lives and even more difficult to figure out what to do with it and how to get through it so that you can live a more free, whole life.

In this intensive, we explore the impact of difficult life events and the journey of healing and growth. We will practice coping skills, and learn about the whole-person trauma effects and restoration.

This is a restorative workshop for those who've experienced or know someone who has experienced

Shame, Violation, Harm, Abuse, Powerlessness, or Betrayal

Emotionally, Spiritually, Sexually, or Relationally.

Workshop Schedule:

Saturday, December 7

Check-in 8:30-9am

Lunch on your own (several places within walking distance or BYO)

***Limited Seating, Reserve your seat now! If all seats are sold, then please call to be put on a waiting list or for us to call you for next available workshop***

Who may specifically benefit?

Anyone who would like to learn more about trauma and grow through their own difficult live events can benefit. This intensive may be of particular interest to those who have had these particular life events...

  • Adult survivors of childhood abuse
  • Partner of someone struggling with sexual addiction
  • Those recovering from harmful relationships with family or intimate partner
  • Those who've experienced spiritual, emotional, or relational harm
  • Those who work with people who've been harmed in these ways (in ministry or education, community care/treatment centers, caregiving occupations)
  • Loved one of someone who has experienced trauma

We will focus on whole-person care, offering coping skills, processing the impact of trauma on each aspect of who we are, and provide a path for restoration from trauma. You will gain greater understanding of the process of what is happening internally, how it is triggered, and the effects externally. The intensive will provide clarity and a path forward in care, including resources you can use in your continual growth process.

This workshop will involve coping skills exercises, but you are free to engage as much or as little as you feel comfortable. The activities will not be group-oriented participant-to-participant, but will be leader-to-participants oriented.

Because of the nature of the event, the workshop would not be appropriate for those with severe depression, significant emotional dysregulation, or low mental health functioning.

Questions about the appropriateness of the event for your situation can be addressed by contacting the office.

Things you need to know:

  • This is not counseling. It is a psycho-educational workshop and therefore personal sharing is limited or not involved.
  • You are responsible for obtaining your own lodging if coming from out of town.
  • Spirituality will be addressed and mostly will be spoken of in general terms, though some issues may be more specifically addressed briefly for participants as questions are asked.

Lunch will be on your own at a nearby restaurant (several within walking distance) or you may bring your own.

Snacks and water will be provided.
