Restoring Wholeness: Reclaiming Body, Sex, Heart and Soul - A Healing and Empowerment Journey for Women
Open to a whole new way of knowing yourself………….
We will explore the effects of trauma and sexual objectification on women and a model of sexuality that includes our emotional, mental, spiritual and physical selves.
The healing path of yoga therapy includes an exploration of the koshas—“sheaths” or layers of our being. The model includes our emotional, psychological, physical, energetic and spiritual lives. However, an in depth exploration of an integral part of our self is often left out—our sexuality and sexual identity as women. The absence of the discussion on healthy sexual identity and expression is an impediment to sound self-esteem and an integrated sense of self as a woman.
Women may turn to alcohol, food and other substances after years of objectification or traumatic experiences to numb the pain, and make it easier to access their femininity and/or capacity for freedom in their sexual expression.
Due to pervasive objectification, women need an integrated model of wholeness and healing that supports them in accepting their bodies and emotions, re-establishes healthy boundaries, increases the ability to receive pleasure, and teaches embodiment practices while identifying the impact of female socialization on sexuality.
As we awaken, truly embody our sacred body temple and value the feminine principle, we will assist in the transformation and healing our world needs at this time.
