About

In this workshop, participants will explore the art of mending as a form of healing. Through sewing and embroidery, we will patch and stitch to honor treasured fabric items with a focus on gentle repair. Objects which hold special stories and memories might include garments or blankets; join in this communal workshop and participate in the centuries-old practice of restoration.

Materials

Please bring a range of textile items that are in need of light repair, such as garments, sweaters and socks with minor holes, or table linens/quilts involving minimal darning. Please bring suitable thread and sewing needles for each repair, as well as one pair of scissors. For visible mending projects, please bring a range of contrasting thread colors to work with.
