Description

Restore Your Gut Health
10.30am – 4.00pm
Saturday 22nd September 2018

What you eat can improve your mood and behaviour! Depression and mental health research is taking an exciting direction and it involves our gut health and the bacteria that live there. Imagine if food and probiotics could replace anti-depressants? The more we learn about gut bacteria (our microbiome) the more we discover they need to be protected and well fed!

Much of this knowledge is thanks to Professor John Cryan and his research team in University College Cork, who have extensive knowledge about the relationship between gut and brain. John recently co-authored an international best-seller, The Psychobiotic Revolution: Mood, Food, and the New Science of the Gut-Brain Connection. He is a Castlerea native and Roscommon Town Team are delighted to welcome him as part of their Explore and Restore health and wellness weekend series. John is joined by an exciting line up of experts from farming, health, nutrition, and cooking to help you explore ways to restore your gut health!
