Description

As “the holidays” approach, stress builds and can get the best of us. Chaos ensues, emotions heighten, and relationships struggle. You’re eating poorly, sleeping fewer hours, and often drinking more alcohol. By the time the holiday festivities roll around, you are left feeling tense, tired and worn out.
The very best gift you can give yourself this holiday season will be a set of effective tools to decrease your stress. These tools are designed to help you feel relaxed and refreshed in the coming months. During this 4-week series, you will learn how to:
· Reflect on your day with journaling
· Unplug and use technology as a tool instead of a distraction
· Pause with yoga and the benefits it brings
· Restore your mind (as needed) with guided meditation
Week 1 - October 3
Reflect - Our first 90-minute session will be a time to learn more about The Wellness Paradigm, The Nature of Stress, the long-term effects it has on our lives. Coping with stress can be a challenge, but with tools, like journaling, we decrease our stress through self-awareness.
Week 2 - October 10
Unplug - In a world full of increasing demands, you may feel pulled in multiple directions. Social media, email and alerts may be a regular part of your day. We often lose sight of our priorities and what’s really important. This week, the focus will be how to unplug and learn techniques to use technology (and time!) to our advantage.
Week 3 - October 17
Pause - This week, we pause to reflect on the ancient practice of yoga, and how it can help us relax through stressful times. Just 20-30 minutes on the mat can help us stretch and align our bodies, slow down our thoughts, and re-center ourselves; allowing us to be better for ourselves, and the ones we love.
Week 4 - Oct 24
Restore – Our minds can be a busy place, feeling like a ship being tossed about in a storm. How do you calm the sea, when the storm is all around us? This week, we will learn how to, and the benefits of, guided meditation. Restore your mind in 10-20 minutes a day to calm the seas.
This retreat is free, but we ask for commitment so that you and your peers can develop a relationship and engage on a deeper level!
Every time you attend, you get 1 entry towards a free outfit, plus if you attend all 4 classes, you get an additional entry!
