FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

NO. Anyone, at any age, can participate. I performed with my son in-utero and he now participates and performs.

What can I bring into the event?

ANYTHING. We do ask that any device which makes noise and has a function to vibrate, be switched to vibrate or airplane mode. Some of our clients carry equipment which has no vibrate option. This is ok, as accommodations are readily available.

I experience a disability; can I still participate?

YES. The yoga being taught in our classes is called Frequency Yoga™. This type of yoga is gentle. Some of our clients use a wheelchair. These clients sit during the class and still can participate. Some of our client’s experience Autism. These clients find themselves able to participate as well. The best way to see if this practice works for you and your loved ones is by attending, or contacting the number listed above.

This is my first ever yoga class. I've seen some of the moves and I am nervous. What moves will I be expected to perform?

I understand. I too get nervous when I try something new. We have no expectations; we only ask that you breathe. Approximately 90% of the class is held on the mat. If you would like to watch, you can swing on by and sit through one of the classes.

The website says donations are always welcome! Does this mean I must donate to attend?

This is listed for those who want to donate. We would prefer if our students attend without bringing their wallets. We receive donations from fundraisers, grants, businesses, and private donors. These donations allow our performers to lead students through classes. The great thing about our classes is anytime you see a class with the USABY logo you'll know you can just arrive, sign yourself in, find a spot within the classroom, and enjoy.

I'm thinking of bringing my children with me to the class. Are the teachers certified and have they received background checks?

YES. All our teachers are certified as a yoga teacher or they have been practicing in their modality for many, many, many years. The City of San Diego requires all teachers who teach independently to go through an intensive screening. This screening is almost identical to the background checks performed by the FBI, and can take months to receive clearance. The screening must be approved for the teachers to perform independently with students. Teachers are then certified to work with people who experience disabilities. If you would like to know more information, please feel free to ask.

How long have you been offering these services, and where can I find more information?

The journey has been a long one, and molded over many years. The founder offered the first free class around 2012. Universal Sound and Blissed Yoga held their first class a couple years later. You can find more information about the founder and their path to the non profit on the website www.usaby.org.
