Join the Restorative Practices Collaborative of Maine for our Spring Workshops on April 4-5, 2019.

If you are new to Restorative Practices or need a refresher, then Foundations of Restorative Practices on April 4th is perfect for you. This workshop covers the basic concepts of the Restorative Approach, with a buffet of experiential practices to try out!

For those interested in restorative approaches to classroom management, we invite you to attend Practicing Restorative Approaches for Class Management, Attendance and Discipline on April 5th. This workshop will coach you on how to incorporate restorative techniques into your daily routines, while building relationships and resolving conflicts in a restorative climate.

Foundations of Restorative Practices, Thursday, April 4, 2019, Peoples Choice CU, Saco, ME

This workshop will introduce participants to the Restorative Approach, which focuses on building, maintaining and repairing relationships in the school community. Participants will learn Restorative Practices that have proven effective and sustainable, including: a continuum of practices from proactive to repairing harm; a Circle process for building community and for teaching academic content; and restorative language to use in interactions with students and adults. The workshop is interactive and includes practicing these techniques. If you are new to Restorative Practices or want a refresher, join us for this workshop!

Cost: $180 per person.

Practicing Restorative Approaches for Class Management, Attendance and Discipline, Friday, April 5, 2019, Peoples Choice CU, Saco, ME

Our initial responses to distractions, disruptions and conflicts have a powerful impact on the well-being of our students, our peers and the school community. What are some ways to maintain engagement and build relationships when resolving these situations?

This workshop will offer an experiential opportunity for all members of the school staff to explore restorative approaches and the ways in which we can apply them while upholding a restorative culture and climate. Through circle practice, restorative dialogue, small group work and peer sharing you will be ready to incorporate restorative techniques into your daily interactions!

Cost: $180 per person.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

The venue is right off the I-95 Saco/OOB Turnpike exit. The parking lot is available for event participants, as long as cars park around the perimeter of the lot and not right next to the bank.
