Event description
Restorative Justice, Peacemaking and Circle Process Training

About this Event

St. Michael and All Angels' Episcopal Church in Studio City is hosting a day-long workshop on techniques of restorative justice, restorative practices, and circle facilitation, led by the Fresno Pacific Center for Peacemaking. Restorative justice is a model grounded in relationships that seeks to meet the needs of those who have been harmed, address conflict and restore relationships and community. It is used by social workers, students, justice advocates, professors, therapists, school teachers, psychologists, community activists, and in every day interpersonal relationships worldwide.

The circle process is a core foundational concept and practice of Restorative Justice for healing harm. This workshop will introduce participants to the peacemaking circle process through a hands on experience as well as an understanding of the foundational values and key structural elements for designing and conducting peacemaking circles. The goal is for participants to develop skills to facilitate restorative justice work in their own contexts, and to leave the workshop prepared to facilitate a restorative justice circle.
