Students, families, educators, district and state administrators, and community partners will gather for a day of circles and conversations on building and strengthening restorative communities at our schools, in our school districts, and with our families.
We open the day with an opportunity to connect with one another and to our vision of Restorative Communities as safe, trauma-informed, inclusive spaces that cultivate the expertise of all community members with a social- and racial- justice framework as well as the practical skills to act restoratively. We then break out into two sets of workshops. The first circle workshops help us build and strengthen our role-specific knowledge and skills with restorative practices and share best practices with those in similar positions. The second workshops help us collaborate across roles and utilize our collective, diverse strengths to improve specific restorative communities.
We close together sharing convictions affirmed, insights gained, and action steps. Finally, we invite all participants to break bread, deepen relationships and learn about additional community resources.
*Breakfast, lunch, childcare, and Spanish translation will be provided.
